You may have been wandering around in the Wilderness for years. . .waiting for the blessings to flow…good news. . .let’s make sure you’re positioned for prosperity.
I have found that the reason many believers have not or will not experience biblical prosperity is because they don’t understand the spiritual progression which brings the manifestation. For instance, every person who believes in the Word of God and His promises of prosperity can quote Deuteronomy 8:18 which says:
“But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”
However, the folks who quote the verse. . .often just focus on the “power to get wealth” part.
Here are seven keys to manifesting the power to get wealth in your life.
First, thou. . .you. This is about you.
I have a dear friend. . .a brilliant man. . .who is, in fact, a member of the Mensa Society, with an IQ of over 120.
In the midst of any conversation. . .whether about politics, people or ideas. . .he is prone to say. . . “Let’s get this conversation back where it belongs. . .on me.”
For my friend, the statement is just a way of having fun. . .or re-directing the conversation but it doesn’t have to be on him. . .he isn’t self-centered in the least. I’m sure each of us have run into more than our share of self-centered people. . .who always want the conversation to be about them. However, the second word in Deuteronomy 8:18 clearly proves the verse is about you.
In fact, the Amplified Bible translation of the verse says:
“But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth…”
It’s clear this verse is talking about YOU. Now that should make YOU shout HALLELUJAH!
Second, remember the Lord your God.
Unfortunately, as many believers become successful they forget . . .how they got where they are.
I understand that you may have worked hard to get where you are. . .but I also know that it was the Lord who gave you. . .a brain to think with. . .the strength of body to work. . . the health to function properly. . .and the skills to create possibilities.
In short, we are who we are and where we are because of who is in us. It’s His ability working through us we hardly have any reason to boast.
We tend to forget why we are where we are . . .even those who’ve helped and blessed us along the way.
Deuteronomy 8:2 in the New Living Translation says:
“Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands.”
When we remember the Lord for what He’s done and doing. . .He will ALWAYS show us the way to go.
Proverbs 3:6 in the Good News Translation says:
“Remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way.”
Third, ‘He give thee.’
God is giving to you. . .the keys to the Kingdom. Without question, He is giving you the power to get wealth. God is giving the power to get wealth to you. . . just as surely as He does to believers and well as non-believer. God is giving each of us the opportunity. . .the power to get wealth. And yes, He’ll do for you what He does for anyone else. . .He has to.
Acts 10:34 says:
“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.”
The New International Version says:
“Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism.”
The Message Bible translation is even clearer:
“Peter fairly exploded with his good news: “It’s God’s own truth, nothing could be plainer: God plays no favorites! It makes no difference who you are or where you’re from—if you want God and are ready to do as he says, the door is open.”
I have read Acts 10:34 in thirteen different translations and I have not seen any sort of asterisk or footnote indicating that this scripture doesn’t apply to everybody on planet earth.
God is empowering and enlightening you to know beyond a shadow of a doubt. . .that He’s giving you gift contained in Deuteronomy 8:18.
Fourth, it’s a gift!
A gift is something you give or receive.
According to Strong’s Concordance the Hebrew word for giveth is nathan (H5414) which means: “give; to be given.”
Have you every received a gift from your parents…spouse…children…best friend or anyone else? Why do you think they wanted to give you a gift? The person giving the gift wanted to bless you.
What kind of gifts does our Heavenly Father want to give each of us.
Matthew 7:11 in the Amplified Bible says:
“If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and advantageous things to those who keep on asking Him!”
What kind of gifts does your Heavenly Father want to give you?
Good gifts. . .advantageous gifts.
I James 1:17 says: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
Would you consider having the funds to pay off all your debts an advantageous gift?
Would you consider walking in divine health an advantageous gift?
Would you consider living in peace an advantageous gift?
Giving you the power to get wealth is most certainly an advantageous gift.
Fifth, God is giving you the POWER to get wealth.
The Hebrew word for power in Deuteronomy 8:18 is koach (H3581) means: “strength, power, might; strength (of angels; and the power (of God)”
I’m about to speak a five-word sentence. . .the reality of which can change your life forever. Here it is: “God is giving you power.”
Acts 1:8 says:
“… ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you … (then) ye shall become witnesses … .”
The power Jesus promises after the Holy Ghost comes upon you in enabling power.
The Greek word for power is dunamis which means “ability.”
So let’s look at this verse again as I expand the paraphrase for you. “You shall receive the ability after the Holy Ghost has come upon you, and you will be able to witness of me simultaneously in Jerusalem, and in Judea, and in Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”
God is giving each of us power. . .and not just any power. . .His resurrection power.
The same power that raised Jesus from the dead (Romans 8:11). . .is being loosed into your finances. Now that power ought to make your checking account pop!
If you’re not taping into God’s Power Source. . .the answer could be found in Matthew 22:29 in the New International Version says:
“Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.”
Sixth, God is giving you the power to get WEALTH.
Deuteronomy 8:18 in the Amplified Bible says:
“But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
God is giving you the power. . .to pray a nice prayer; God is giving you a heart for those less fortunate. But if you’re broke all you can do is wish them a better life.
Wealth and wisdom go hand in hand.
Ecclesiastes 7:11-12 in the Message Bible says:
“Wisdom is better when it’s paired with money, Especially if you get both while you’re still living. Double protection: wisdom and wealth! Plus this bonus: Wisdom energizes its owner.”
Now, let’s look at Deuteronomy 8:18 in the New International Version which says:
“Always remember that it is the LORD your God who gives you power to become rich, and he does it to fulfill the covenant he made with your ancestors.”
Why does He want you to be rich…..to fulfill the covenant He made to our forefathers
Deuteronomy 8:18 in the New International Version says:
“But remember the Lord your God. He gives you the ability to produce wealth. That shows he stands by the terms of his covenant. He promised it with an oath to your people long ago. And he’s still faithful to his covenant today.”
The New Living Translation says: “. . . in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath.”
God has given us the ability…the power to get wealth. . .to get rich for a purpose.
What does it mean to be rich? Webster’s Intercollegiate Dictionary defines “rich” as “having abundant possessions, especially material wealth.”
God wants us to be abundantly blessed. . .so we can bless others.
Genesis 12:2 in the Amplified Bible says:
“And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors] and make your name famous and distinguished, and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others].”
Seventh, God will never give you something unless He expects you to use it….
God has given each of us the power to get wealth. How does God expect us to use and manifest His power in our finances?
How do you get His Resurrection Power out of the scriptures and into your daily life maximizing your power to get wealth?
Let’s create an acronym for P.O.W.E.R.
In the Greek and Aramaic language, the word “plans” means “thought; device; purpose.”
I Chronicles 28:12 in the New King James Version says:
“and the plans for all that he had by the spirit, of the courts of the house of the Lord, of all the chambers all around, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries for the dedicated things.”
I Chronicles 28:19 in the New King James Version says:
“All this,” said David, “the Lord made me understand in writing, by His hand upon me, all the works of these plans.”
Proverbs 21:5 in the New King James Version says:
“The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.” –
Plans give you power!
1. Develop immediate (next twelve months) and long-range (next five years) goals in the six major areas of your life. These areas are Spiritual, Family, Financial, Mental, Social and Physical.
2. Develop a written plan of action for each goal.
3. Prepare a specific timetable for implementing each step in your plan of action.
4. Create a file for each goal in the major areas of your life so you know where they are.
5. Monitor the progress in each of these areas on a regular basis.
Organization means power!
Lasting, life-changing wealth will only come through effective, ingenious, God-inspired work. The word work means “anything accomplished by hand, art, industry or mind.”
Proverbs 13:11 in the Amplified Bible says:
“Wealth (not earned but) won in haste or unjustly or from the production of things for vain or detrimental use (such riches) will dwindle away, but he who gathers little by little will increase (his riches).”
Galatians 6:4 in the Amplified Bible says:
“But let every person carefully scrutinize and examine and test his own conduct and his own work. He can then have the personal satisfaction and joy of doing something commendable…”
Develop your plan with the proper organization and begin to implement your strategies.
Colossians 4:12-13 says:
“…labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God… he hath a great zeal for you…”
The word zeal means “excitement of the mind, fervor of spirit.”
Enthusiasm is contagious. It is simply transferring how you feel about a person, place or thing to other people.
Be enthusiastic about life, work out your potential with great passion in order to achieve uncommon results.
Enthusiasm is power!
“If any man’s work abide which he hath built… he shall receive a reward.”
Revelation 22:12 says:
“…I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according to his work shall be.”
Reward means “dues paid for work.” God will bestow rewards upon our good deeds and endeavors.
You can achieve the reward of wealth with proper planning, good organization, diligent work and enthusiasm.
In closing, I want to share two powerful scriptures with you:
Ephesians 3:20 in the Amplified Bible.
“Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams].”
2 Corinthians 9:8 in the Amplified Bible says:
“And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].”
You’ve got the power. . . every ability you need . . .to get wealth. . .now what are you going to do with it? For what kingdom purpose are you going to apply wealth after getting it?
